The design is a development of Western necktie patterns with a distinctive larger and monumental appearance of the ornaments.
As most Bulgarian symbols, bibitsas have an ancient history and were one of the favorite figures in Chiprovian carpets. The Chiprovian carpets were a luxury sought after in many European and Asian mansions.
In some dialects bibitsa means a duck or ducklet, in others it is a link for attaching the horse’s yoke to the cart.
It is up to you to decode the meaning of the necktie and read it as a personal story of yours.
